THE PROS AND CONS OF USING AN OLD MacBook Air (2012) BY QUHLUH (Written on a MacBook Air from 2012)

Should you use a MacBook Air from 2012? That really depends on your budget. The machine does still hold up today, and it runs smooth as butter for when it was made, and this one was sitting in a closet for like 6 years, and then on the ground for probably another 7 months, and then on a shelf where it burned in the summer and froze in the winter. I didn't treat this thing well, never upgraded any parts, this is just as it sat in the box it came in. It is no longer updated and supported which is a huge con, but it still works on the Internet smoothly and works pretty well and does feel as premium as Apple products usually do.
This is still a very old machine in retrospect of how many new ones came out after, so apple may decide to just drop this thing from support fully in the next few years. You can get one for around 100 bucks online. If you can afford anything else I highly recommend not buying one, and spending a bit more cash to get a new model. If you're really tight on money and just need something where you can do some non-technologically-demanding work/schoowork, it will be just fine. It is still a beautiful piece of hardware, and if you jus t want one for personal use that is not gaming, it'll work well for that too.

I am afraid that I must add that the battery power is terrible. For an old system, the battery has aged and loses 10 percent within 10 minutes. Another ginormous con.
