We can trade off, ya see!
Less devices of higher quality, or...
... more devices of lower quality!
 GigabytedToday at 4:47 PM
even if you had lets say 90% of the hashrate where you mine 200k coins a day, to earn back that 200k$ it would take a year
 Wolf9466Today at 4:47 PM
I have REAL estimates for this also from a REAL design company which does custom ASIC shit... sec.
 GigabytedToday at 4:47 PM
kinda cool thou to know that is an option
will keep my eye open for other projects alike
 Wolf9466Today at 4:47 PM
Okay, for their shitty design
 GigabytedToday at 4:47 PM
lets do one for cruz!
 Wolf9466Today at 4:47 PM
They were estimating something like...
 GigabytedToday at 4:47 PM
just kidding
 Wolf9466Today at 4:48 PM
For a voltage of 0.9V, their power dissipation (per IC) would be 3.19mW, with a delay of 3.272ns, meaning a max clock speed of 305.6Mhz.
This translates to 305.6MH/s per chip.
 GigabytedToday at 4:48 PM
You saw that ive tagged you in cruz channel the other day?
 Wolf9466Today at 4:48 PM
Nope. I dun go there, but I can! In a minute, though...
So...
They also did the calcs for other voltages.
 GigabytedToday at 4:49 PM
Where that dude was telling me how superior cruz was because it had its protocol in json
while btc is all bytes
 Wolf9466Today at 4:49 PM
0.8V - 2.46mW / chip, 4.250ns, for 235.3Mhz
So, 235.3MH/s per chip...
However, this was their original proposal for a design
which was kinda shit.
I just about halved their delay, while keeping their throughput of one hash per clock cycle...
So, we'd be looking at over 500MH/s per chip (very lowball estimate) with a 0.9V input.
 GigabytedToday at 4:50 PM
damn
 Wolf9466Today at 4:50 PM
Realistically - likely over 600MH/s.
So, we put multiples on a PCB...
 GigabytedToday at 4:50 PM
a BCU is doing about 9ghs
 Wolf9466Today at 4:51 PM
... how many TH/s you want? x3
 GigabytedToday at 4:51 PM
 Wolf9466Today at 4:51 PM
We need fifteen to match it.
 GigabytedToday at 4:51 PM
pocket changes
 Wolf9466Today at 4:51 PM
How much power does the BCU use for 9GH/s?
 GigabytedToday at 4:51 PM
about 300w i believe
 Wolf9466Today at 4:52 PM
We'd use about...
0.5317% of the power that the BCU does.
For the exact same hashrate.
 GigabytedToday at 4:53 PM
lol
so yeah these dude are doing money with this hashrate then
 Wolf9466Today at 4:54 PM
3.19mW (or 0.00319W) times 15 is 0.04785W.
 GigabytedToday at 4:54 PM
yeah sounds a bit better huh! lol
