What solved it for me was the following:
 - Set "nomodeset" during the installation process.
 - Set "nouveau.modeset=0" in GRUB
 - At login, CTRL+ALT+F1 (terminal)
 - Type: "sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get upgrade"
 - Then "sudo apt-get install nvidia-current"
 - Reboot
