The role of Zoë:
 Zoë's mission was to "save April Ryan" and, according to the White Kin, she succeeds in the end. Yet in the story, she does nothing to change April's actions or dispositions, and April ends up falling into swamp water, stabbed through the heart. Even if she can still breathe underwatter, we have seen nothing to suggest that heart-stabbing is not always lethal.
 The role of Faith:
 Alvin Peats is connected to electronics everywhere. The static bothers him, and Faith is his main enemy until Zoë shows up. Why is it that when static disappears he goes completely blind? Shouldn't he become more powerful, instead? WatiCorp was also bothered by Faith — she was delaying project Alchera. Why did Zoë agree to kill her main ally in the name of "not letting the bad guys win"?
 The role of Brian Westhouse:
 Apparently, he caused the "undreaming" and then hunted down the blue and the white dragons. None of this is explained at all.
