Orzhov Syndicate:
Food & Cuisine:
Depends on where you are in the church. If you're working off a debt or a contract, you're going to subsist on bread, water, and the holy spirit. If you're an average clerk, debt collector and so on, you'll get standard fare - not the best, not the worst. Your cafes and eateries are going to have artwork of food you can't afford. Yet. If you're high up in the clergy, there is figuratively nothing that you can't acquire. Peeled grapes? Diamond-covered steak. Orphans stuffed with saffron. Name it, it's yours. Senseless opulence is encouraged, in fact, so that the debtors think they can end up like you. Orzhov is also the go-to source of food for the undead. Less than the Golgari, but at the same time, since the Orzhov mostly use the spirits of debtors, they bodies are freely sold to the undead (and to the Golgari at an insane markup).
Drug and alcohol use is encouraged in the lower classes. Any hook that the Orzhov can use to get more people indebted to them via their vices. The upper class does indulge as well, while they're alive. Interestingly, the Orzhov developed several magical infusions that act as uppers and downers for sentient undead, and charge an arm and a leg (sometimes literally!) for it.
Leisure & Recreation:
As with everything in the Orzhov, depends on where you are in the hierarchy. If you're in debt to them, you don't get to have fun. You get to work off your debt, you sinner. If you're one of their workers, you get access to a large variety of recreational services, though their use is frowned upon, because while you're relaxing, you're not making profit. Even if you are doing something recreationally, you're better off monetizing it. If you're playing football, sell tickets. If you're playing the violin, sell tickets. If you're reading at the library, make noise until people pay you to stop. Things like that.
Once you're getting close to the top of the pile, all of Ravnica's entertainments are available to you. Inside the Orzhov, you can experience a wide variety of pleasures, as much as you desire. There is also mental magic that the Syndicate paid the Dimir a LOT of money for that allows someone to experience the feeling of another sentient being, riding alongside their body. Finally, if you're feeling brave and have made a contract to get yourself resurrected or re-animated, go the darkest deepest pits of the Cult of Rakdos and partake in some of the things they offer, and then the Church of Orzhov will bring you back in one piece.
Friendship & Conflict:
The Orzhov treat most relationships very transactionally, in the terms of debts and favors. This is why genuine friendship that happens is rare and treasured, so it's a form of value and opulence in of itself. Usually it's when there are two people that are not in debt to each other, and operate in similar social circles - but friendship can actually transcend these barriers. A custom between real friends is that if the friend does a favor, it is immediately discharged by a token favor from the other party. ((So, if you ask to borrow a cup of sugar, it's assumed that you will return a cup of sugar the next day, plus a little extra, as an example.))
Conflict resolution in the Orzhov can be done in two ways. Officially and unofficially. Officially is the pious way of doing this. You both hire advokists, pay witnesses, pay judges, pay the jury, and so on (all entirely legal - after all, the more profit a judge made, the more holy spirit they're going to have, and the more correct their decisions will be). Then, essentially the person who managed to spend more money wins. The unofficial way is just by hiring assassins and mercenaries. If the Church of Orzhov finds out that you cut them out of the profit, they will condemn you and your family as heretics and slap you with so many fines, you triple-great-grandkids are going to be working your debts off.
Relationships & Sexuality:
Like most things (okay, everything), the Orzhov view this as a source of profit. Under the light of Orzhov, all are welcome, so long as everyone gets paid, the proper dues are paid, and did you know that they're offering an excellent life insurance policy at a whole 15% off? They're not going to charge more or less and don't have traditional gender roles. While they cultivate the appearance of traditionalists, they are actually ruthlessly pragmatic and meritocratic, and many a woman or non-binary person was surprised how much the rules can be bent when profits are made. That being said, the Orzhov would also have no second thought about using one's sexuality or identity as blackmail material.
Childhood & Old Age:
Most children born to the Orzhov experience a system of Good Boy/Pretty Princess Points. Do your chores, get a couple. Do more than that, get more. Good marks, more. These points are then exchanges into things like food, hugs, and affection. That's for children of people that don't owe a lot of money to the Syndicate (because everybody owes some amount). For the children of those who owe a lot of money, those just work as soon as they're able. Childcare facilities cost a lot of money, but what, are you going to skimp out on your own kid? Charity is a sin, don't you know. Schools are entirely private and mandatory.
Retirement is done individually. If you were pious and made profit and put some away, the Orzhov Syndicate will pay you what you are owed. If you were a filthy sinner and didn't make a lot of profit, your debts are transferred to your descendants, and you'll be sold into thrulldom, or to the Golgari, depending on what's going to discharge your debt.
General Notes: Hypercapitalism as a religion. The Orzhov Syndicate sells the idea that if you do a lot of work you can end up like their upper crust. This is true to some extent, but at the same time, in order to make money, you need to have money, so most people manage to avoid debthood, but don't make it big either.
