The age when Human race was thriving, while other races were declining, especially halflings and gnomes, who were in the brink of extinction. The early age of firearm. It is too far from perfect. It is very volatile. It is very expensive. But it works and can kills faster than fists, swords, and arrows, sometimes. Only a handful of people who begin to understand what it is and how it works. In this age, Divine magic is still seen as miracle, although only those with 'pure faith' who perform it. Many viewed as "Faithful Servant of God", but only a handful who can perform miracle. Meanwhile, Arcane magic is seen as unpredictable, unexplainable, and terrifying power. Religious people tend to mark them as heresy, and lately, rumors about known 'Arcanists' suddenly went missing are spreading like wildfire. == World Setting == The "Main Land" consists of a vast land with various landscapes and contours; from vast plains to steep mountains; fertile grasslands with hills and forests in the middle part of Main Land, to barren lands at one of its westernmost peninsula; lastly the everlasting warm coastal line, to perma-frost mountain ranges. A few kingdoms ruled several parts of the land, including the separated isles. All of them are ruled by a branch of royal families, mostly originated from one sub-race of Human. Their common people, however, consists of various Human sub-races, which differs from one part of land to another. Each sub-races has their own unique traits and quirks, and each also has their own language. Besides those kingdoms, there is also another power that have influence over the "Main Land": the Church. The Sovereignty and the Church have long history behind them, with each side alternately enjoyed rising power while another suffered declining influence over the land. In this age, both Sovereignity and the Church are equal in term of power and influence across the "Main Land". Each of the kingdoms are also under similar situation. Hence, the map of strength between each powers tend to be balanced, for now. However, it doesn't mean the land is free from political strives between those powers. Most kingdoms clashed with their nearest neighbor, looking for gaps in each defenses and weaknesses. The common people might be affected by this condition, or just doing their routine chores everyday, without worrying much about anything else. Their concerns are just how they can eat and sleep under a roof, especially when winter came. While the Sovereignty busy with eyeing each other, the Church has their own agendas. However, what the Church do, besides purifying and protecting the "Main Land" from remains of past invaders, is not something that every soul in "Main Land" need to know. That's more or less about the "Main Land". In the mean time, there are legends and stories about land across the ocean, with the bravest sailors of the past who had ever set their foot on that land and found luxuries on that land; owned by no one, but the finder. However, that kind of story and legends are dismissed as radical thought and heresy by the Church. Church's dismissal, along with other myths like 'edge of the world' or 'oceanic monsters', made people not dare to venture to the ocean. Hence, they accept their lives in "Main Land", as good as or as bad as their current condition would be.
