Golgari Swarm:
Food & Cuisine:
There's plenty of it, is the first thing that should come to mind. The Golgari provide somewhere around 2/3rds to 3/4ths of the entire food supply of Ravnica. Their farms are pinnacles of magic and nature working in tandem - huge vertical edifices, with food grown in soil up top, fungi grown at the bottom, meat raised in the middle, all cycling back and forth, forever, with life feeding death and death feeding life in perpetuity.
However, the average member of the Swarm doesn't eat all that well. If you're a farmer in one of these vertical farms, you eat barely better than any other worker, due to the good stuff being sold to the other guilds. Yes, you get to take some of it with you, but very little. Obviously, the higher ranks eat better. The other aspect is the dead. The Golgari provide thousands of corpses, barrels of blood, and vats of brains to the undead.
Most forms of drugs are legal in the Swarm, as long as it doesn't affect productivity. And since your corpse is most likely to be either sent back to work, or fed to the farms, the Swarm doesn't care. Do as you please. The Golgari actually brew up some potent liquors and trade in psychoactive herbs and fungi (mostly the fungi), which they use themselves and trade to the others (mostly the Rakdos and Gruul, although the Selesnayans also partake).
Leisure & Recreation:
The Golgari Swarm is very communal between people of each social class. There are giant feasthalls for the workers, who go there after a long shift to eat, drink, and be merry. Just because life is a cycle doesn't mean you can't enjoy yourself in the meanwhile, and forget the terror that surrounds you. These places are usually packed, filled with smells of different types of food, and the din of thousands of voices fills the air. The upper classes generally have imitation lavish feasts in their private quarters, but again, in many cases, the food is more for show, since many of the upper class are literal blood-sucking parasites.
Actual entertainment generally consists of various sorts of competitions between the farms. Sporting events, beast races, zombie marathons, et cetera. Parkour is popular among the youth, since the under-ruins of Ravnica are perfect broken terrain for such endeavors. The upper class have a darker vice - they tend to hunt the most dangerous game (although it's a question of how dangerous a common laborer is to a vampire, lich, or necromancer). Released into the maze, the target is hounded by the undead until they are slain - or until sunrise, at which point, they are given a big sum of money, promotions, and a magical compulsion to never speak of it.
Friendship and Conflict:
As mentioned previously, the Golgari Swarm is very communal. Generally speaking everyone on a farm will be at least passing aquantices with each other, with this becoming friendship in some cases. At the same time, the lower classes know that based on crop yield, they can become fodder for the farm, so friendships are also a way to either get around that, or through that. By that token, undeath generally breaks bonds of friendships, either in the case of mindlessness, or because predator and prey are not equals.
Conflict resolution is handled by the Ochran. Generally speaking, if both are low-class laborers, fodder is always needed, and the two parties are generally turned into fertilizer, or mindless zombies. In cases of upper class vs lower class, upper class wins. In cases of upper class vs upper class, generally speaking it will boil down to a battle: either fang vs fang, spell vs spell, or horde of undead vs horde of undead. Regardless, someone always dies, and goes back into the Cycle.
Relationships and Sexuality:
The Golgari Swarm generally encourages matings that produce offspring, so a bias towards heterosexuality is present. That being said, monogamy is less of a thing - most breeding is done similar to livestock - a male will be scheduled to inseminate several females. Upon completion, if his seed is strong, he will be allowed to breed again, if not, he will be re-purposed as a laborer, or an undead. This generally leads to female dominance within the Golgari Swarm, because it's more efficient this way. The upper class that's not undead of course is treated differently - the preference for heterosexuality is still present, but less pronounced, and sex for pleasure is also a thing, with the various females having their pick of pleasure servants. Another important note is that species is absolutely not a barrier for the upper classes, and that the pleasure servants are just that - servants. Overall, it can be said that fecundity is of paramount importance, as is culling to make sure the Swarm stays healthy. Abortions and terminations of weak bloodlines are also common, and made easy with magic.
Childhood & Old Age:
Everything comes down to class. If you're a low-class laborer, your child will learn the trade from you, learn basic literacy, arithmetic, and history in a school that accepts children from several nearby farms, and then it's back to the fields for them. If you've got the brains or charm for it, you might get made a foreman. Of course, if you're high class, you'll get private schools, pirvate tutoring, some background in magic, and so on. The exceptional are groomed towards exceptional positions.
Old age and retirement is not a thing in the Swarm. You git gud or go home. You either achieve undeath or you feed the farms. A small ceremony will be had, depending on the outcome. Your family will be given a day off and go to work the next day, pacified with the idea of the Cycle and that they will see you again.
General Notes:
Jarad doesn't care about the members of the guild all that much. He cares about the Golgari Swarm as a whole, and what it can accomplish as a whole. The lives of individual members do not matter to him or his advisors. If you can climb your way to the point where you matter, good. If you can't, that's a you problem. ((The green/black combo would be very big on survival of the fittest and exploitation of the workers.))
