Because of several bulk operations recently, notification was getting backed up. I was curious about how to avoid this and decided to inspect the agent logic for notifications.
The ClearNotifyEvents agent will clear items from the notifyevents table before they are processed if you have the following opentext.ini settings present…

excludeNodeIDs=1234,2345,3456
With the above configuration, any events tied to the noted dataids (or their children) will be excluded from notificatons even if someone has subscribed to the nodes (or sub-nodes) in question.
