[04:24] Anyway, disclaimer: I cheated and use Daz Studio, which is basically a "Buy models and pose them like dolls" software. The base human models come with like 200 morph targets for adjusting finite details with zero modeling involved. It is *absoutely* cheating, but I got really, really good at it. [04:25] So, for fun, I liked to make people I knew. Uusally they'd be alive and I'd get pictures from all three angles, but a few times people requested that I make someone who's dead, or similar, and I only had one picture to go off of. [04:27] Full disclosure, I think them being dead gave me an edge here considering they weren't seeing them every day anymore, but what I used to do was get the face right from the front as best I could, like full OCD. Absouute pixel perfection. This usually required me to turn the view sideways and adjust the depth of some features to get the shading right and such, and by the time I was done with that, most people said it's really close. [05:06] kesh I suspect that Daz is a damn good way to do it, saves the work of getting (what is often fundementally) the same mesh topology in place from scratch. good as an excercise and for practice, otherwise why reinvent the wheel
