Activate mod_rewrite in httpd.conf by adding this line to it:

LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so

Add the following lines in httpd.conf to disable TRACE:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} ^TRACE
RewriteRule .* - [F]
