Artheia was born in the House of Cegddraig, whose members were mostly reside in a Keep which erected in the vicinity of Serpentmouth River's downstream. Her father was the Lord of the Keep, and also the head of Cegdraigg House itself, making her a part of Southkingdom nobility circle.
Artheia grew up with slightly different manners compared to her siblings and cousins, especially those who were about the relatively same age as her. Being inspired by her father, she devoted most of her childhood to learn what she was told to be important for ruling and governing a land. She wished to help her father in the future, and she did her best at her studies and trainings, so she would not humiliate her father, who also bear the title of Pen y Ddraig; a title for the Head of Cegddraig House, who led the Knights of Cegddraig Keep to maintain order and peace in the vicinity of Serpentmouth River. Fortunately for Artheia, her mother, with her father's loyal retainers, were supporting her in the learning processes.
These manners, combined with her headstrong tendency, made Artheia grew slightly apart with the most of her family. However, the very same manner made her relatively closer with her parents than her siblings. Without her knowing it, those traits also made her quite popular with the commoners on her father's land.
Nevertheless, despite never being very close with her siblings, Artheia still felt torn apart when she was powerless to prevent several of them from killing each other, during a period which later known as the first phase of Cataclysm: "The Rage".
The erratic shifts of drought and storm that followed shortly after the sudden madness started, along with earthquakes and blackened sky that completed the second phase of Cataclysm, later known as "The Wind", only made the conditions in Cegddraig Keep became worse. More of her families were consumed by The Rage, due to the abrupt shift from the time of peace and order, to the time of insecurity and chaos. Those who were spared from the madness, mostly died when they sought for any supplies they could find outside the Keep, as most of the farmlands were destroyed by The Wind.
As if the Dawntide was very eager to swept away the civilization from Her face, "The Swept" started suddenly, out of nowhere, without any prior sign, nor giving Her people some chance to restore themselves from the previous phases of Cataclysm. The casualties for Cegdraigg House during this last phase of Cataclysm were enormous.
House of Cegddraig was reduced to a mere two people: the Lord Pen y Ddraig himself and Artheia. The rest were either perished or went missing. It was believed the Lady Cegddraig was on the former group, as she was amongst of those who were trapped inside the collapsing Cegddraig Keep when The Swept started. Less than half of commoners, knights, and retainers who survived The Rage and The Wind, made it through The Swept, despite most of them were barely alive.
As if the loss was not affecting him, Lord Pen y Ddraig gathered the survivors and established a makeshift, fortified hamlet, not far from the former location of Cegddraig Keep. The Lord who previously led an army of knights who protected the whole land at Serpentmouth River's downstream vicinity, now only led a handful of Knights to protect some smalls fields of farmland from raiders and bandits, who could roam freely on Southkingdom after the Cataclysm started. Nevertheless, Artheia did her utmost to support her father.
Unfortunately, despite of their best efforts, the numbers of survivors under Lord Pen y Ddraig's leadership were dwindling over the time, while the remaining farmlands they tried to protect were also reduced bit by bit. Several years later, the signs of Cataclysm began to subside. Unfortunately, at the same time, Lord Pen y Ddraig succumbed to illness, and died shortly after. Being the last known member of the Cegddraig House, Artheia inherited the title of Pen y Ddraig, albeit it was a less meaningful title as for now. Despite of that, she was determined to not humiliate the title, and to not let the House of Cegddraig to vanish entirely from the Dawntide.
However, Artheia must face a hard truth. Not long after taking her late father's place, she was forced to abandon the small, remaining land that her father tried to protect all this time, as the remaining knights were unable to hold their ground any longer against the increasing numbers of bandits and raiders. In a short amount of time, the numbers of survivors who perished under her leadership were already more than a half as her father's in a span of several years.
Fortunately, news about the efforts to rebuild Kingsfield arrived on her ears, giving a glimpse of hope in her desperate and hopeless situation. Without wasting too much time, Artheia led her remaining people to the ruins of Kingsfield, and helped the rebuilding effort.
A year had passed again, and the news of Iron Talons recruitment had spread to the Kingsfield ruins. The news of the guild, which was known as the protectors of the realm in the past, was still existed, brought joy to Artheia. She realized that the effort to rebuild Kingsfield would be in vain if the situations in Dawntide were left as it was now, and the fact that Iron Talon was still existed could change the situation.
However, as much as joining the Iron Talon could haste the restoration of order in Iron Tide, and consequently boosted the chance for rebuilding Kingsfield, she felt that it was not right to abandon her people behind, albeit they were only remained in a handful numbers. Thus, she decided to remain at the Kingsfield ruins, while keep reconsidering her options.
After spending some times by contemplating and being reassured by her remaining retainers, Artheia finally departed to Myrrhae Island.
