Ongoing Review on 5e's Human Paladin with Noble Background
Disclaimer: Will contain many subjectivity in my point of view (and overly long rants), and have many comparisons to PF system, as it was the only system where I have played as a Paladin PC.
 1) Human
- Default Traits <<< Variant Traits
 2) Paladin
- Low starting points, easily outclassed/overshadowed by other classes in their 1st level. Could become a powerhouse in later stage of a campaign, especially in "one encounter per day" session type.
- The starting features are either overspecialized with limited usefulness (Divine Sense; unless if the enemy is either a fiend or an undead), or inefficient and ineffective (Lay on Hands; encounter action economy + low hp recovery).
